Description DCSA's Office of the Inspector General (OIG) is seeking a Hotline Investigator. In this role you will report to, and assist, the Deputy Inspector General with tracking receipt, closure, and disposition of case files assigned by the DoD IG Hotline and DCSA IG Hotline submissions. You will also conduct interviews of witnesses, SMEs, and the subjects of the alleged misconduct.

As a OIG HOTLINE INVESTIGATOR you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Conducting appropriate research and inquiry ensuring that the rights of the individual(s) and the best interests of the agency are protected.
- Participating in analysis of complaints and investigative results to determine systemic problems and root causes of issues and problems.
- Recognizing, exploring, and exploiting leads; detecting discrepancies in information; and distinguishing between relevant and irrelevant information.
- Creating professionally competent written reports of inquiry/investigation that accurately report the facts in a concise, logical, and objective manner.

Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade (GS/ GG- 11) in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility.
Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes:
  • Receiving and triaging complaints from internal and external sources, referrals (to include DoD Hotline cases), and requests for assistance;
  • Conducting interviews of witnesses, subject matter experts, and other sources to explore leads, detect and resolve discrepancies, and determine relevant and irrelevant information;
  • Conducting open source, legal, and regulatory research using the Internet, government record databases and other pertinent sources; producing professionally competent written reports of inquiry/investigation that accurately report the facts in a concise, logical, and objective manner
  • Prioritizing workload to ensure all Hotline complaints are addressed in a timely manner
  • Reviewing changes to regulations, policies, and procedures to ensure understanding and compliance
  • Recording and maintaining administrative data in applicable systems and software.

7. Oral and Written Communication- Demonstrates the ability to clearly and effectively articulate and present facts, ideas, issues and analyses to a wide range of audiences; makes clear and convincing oral presentations; prepares succinct and well-organized papers, briefings and documentation to promote decisions.Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
Salary89,910.00 - 128,956.00 Annual
