Who May Apply: US Citizens This is a term appointment in the excepted service starting on or before 1 July 2025 and not to exceed 3 years. Appointment may be extended in one- to five-year increments thereafter. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Basic Requirements: A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. In addition to meeting the Qualification Requirements above, applicants will be rated on the following: SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): 1. Knowledge of relevant theoretical and practical experience in the science and practice of Defense Enterprise systems and processes, ideally at the senior/strategic level. OSD/Joint experience preferred. 2. A demonstrated ability to provide superlative teaching at the graduate, and/or Senior Service College level, to include using student learning management systems and collaboration tools (within the last three years highly desired) with an ability to synchronously and asynchronously manage an online seminar of 15-20 students. 3. Ability to conceptualize, design, execute, and assess experiential learning activities that exercise students in applying theory to practice. 4. Knowledge of research and publications in areas relevant to the USAWC curriculum, to include U.S. Department of Defense force management and enterprise systems and processes. 5. Demonstrated capability to refine oral and written communication skills, with a record of successful student advising. 6. An advanced degree in a relevant field with a Ph.D. preferred.
