The Engineering Research Accelerator within the College of Engineering is in search of a highly motivated professional who enjoys taking initiative, excels at multi-tasking and is eager to join our team. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by direct administrative support to the Accelerator Leadership team. This person will be responsible for the direct support of the Associate Dean of Research (ADR) (75%) and the Chief Partnership Officer (CPO) (25%). They will frequently be the initial point of contact and the liaison for the ADR, CPO, and the Engineering Research Accelerator. Preferred applicants have knowledge of the Carnegie Mellon campus and its policies and procedures. Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the Google Suite of products, especially Google Calendar. This nonexempt position will report directly to the Director of Research Initiatives at the Engineering Research Accelerator. A professional demeanor is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Extensive calendar management, which includes ensuring that the ADR and CPO are well prepared for upcoming on/off campus meetings by providing agendas, itineraries, slides, directions, and any prepared materials prior to these meetings.
- Work with the ADR and CPO to ensure that any action items resulting from this meetings/travel are handled in a timely manner. This may include expense report processing, scheduling additional meetings, sending minutes, and providing reminders
- This position may also initiate agenda preparation, compile data, take and distribute meeting minutes, prepare expense reports, make travel arrangements, purchasing, handle the promotion and tenure process, and support initiatives and special projects undertaken by the Engineering Research Accelerator on behalf of the ADR.
- Assist the Director of Research Initiatives with logistical and administrative support for initiatives led by the ADR.
- This position will regularly handle sensitive information and requires maintaining strict confidentiality and discretion
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Associates degree (bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 5-8 years of administrative support experience
