Truancy Advisor
Position Summary:
The Truancy Advisor, is based at one of our
Family Service Centers located in Pennsylvania
, and will support the CCA Truancy team in daily operations. Success in this role requires demonstrating CCA's values, adhering to standards, and maintaining professionalism at all times.
Key Responsibilities During the School Year:
Provide customer service via the truancy phone line.
Manage the Truancy email inbox and respond to stakeholders.
Prepare outbound mail for CYS referrals and letters to school districts with withdrawn learners who have not yet re-enrolled.
Backup contact for school districts, county nonprofits, and court officials who have questions about truancy matters.
Update Children and Youth Services (CYS) and magistrate tracking forms.
Support incoming CYS requests.
Maintain the School Attendance Improvement Conference calendar.
Monitor Jira workflows for learners who may not have moved to the next step.
Research jurisdictions and methods for filing truancy citations.
Monitor truancy reports/data and escalate issues.
Collaborate with other CCA Departments, including Student Services and Special Education, to streamline processes and provide truancy support.
Key Responsibilities Over the Summer:
Review and update all magistrate and county Children and Youth Services contact information.
Assist with updating the truancy standard operating procedures.
Contact families who have not responded with their Intent to Return.
Contact families who have a history of truancy and remind them of attendance expectations.
Continuing to follow-up with the families and school districts of withdrawn learners who have not re-enrolled in another LEA.

Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend or stand as necessary. Ability to travel to other sites/locations as needed.

Required Education and Experience
2 years of relevant work experience

High School Diploma
Familiarity with cyber education.
