The CDC utilizes Direct/Expedited Hire Authorities to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. Applications may be periodically referred to hiring managers both during the open period and after the closing date. This public notice will be used to fill the positions listed below at multiple grade levels and locations.
Applicant Expiration: Applications will expire 4 months after submission/resubmission. To remain eligible for consideration, reapplying is required.
Administering and performing professional work and providing professional consultation in the application of statistical theories, techniques, and methods of gathering and/or interpreting quantified information on various scientific and public health issues and programs.
Designing, developing and applying mathematical techniques to research related to statistical methodology used in public health research and evaluates the results.
Conducting evaluations of data collection, reduction, processing, and analysis methodologies.
Writing and/or presenting comprehensive technical statistical reports.
Degree: that included 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, of which at least 12 semester hours were in mathematics and 6 semester hours were in statistics.

Combination of education and experience: at least 24 semester hours of mathematics and statistics, including at least 12 hours in mathematics and 6 hours in statistics, as shown above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. NOTE: Total course work must have included differential & integral calculus &, in addition, four advanced mathematics courses requiring calculus or equivalent mathematics courses as a prerequisite.
