The Department of Corrections at the State Correctional Institution in Albion, Correctional Industries, is looking for a motivated individual with the right expertise who also has a passion for teaching to become our Corrections General Factory Supervisor. This role entails supervisory responsibilities over personnel and inmates engaged in manufacturing or production activities within a Correctional Industries facility located at State Correctional Institution Albion. 


In this position, you will oversee operations in a production or service setting, which includes managing Corrections Stock Clerks. Additional responsibilities encompass supervising the instruction and practical training provided to inmates, reviewing and authorizing supply and equipment requisitions, maintaining work records and personnel documentation, ensuring adherence to industry sanitation and safety protocols, overseeing the maintenance of machinery and tools, and enforcing security and custody regulations throughout all operational areas.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 40 hour work week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • This position is eligible for full benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $57,126 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Corrections General Industries Factory Foreperson (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Four years of experience in the production of goods or services, which includes one year of lead work experience; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training, which includes one year of lead work experience in the production of goods or services.

Other Requirements:
  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
