MHS is looking to hire a Costumer for Cinderella, our Parent Weekend Show. Rehearsals begin this winter with show dates February 27th-March 1st. Responsibilities include:
- Purchasing, creating, renting or tailoring costume pieces, the costume designer oversees the costuming of the actors, budget, and time frame for the project. They also schedule fittings with actors and oversee costume alterations and repairs as needed. In addition to providing actors and stagehands with guidelines for their proper care.
- Working with the production team to understand costume requirements.
- research costume styles, materials, location and time period.
- Creating costumes and accessories.
- Hiring/rent costumes and fit, alter and repair outfits.
- Unpacking and re-packing rental costumes for return
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Responsible for costuming for at least 40 performers in at least 4 productions.
- Ability to interact with students of different age and skill level in a positive and professional manner.
- Experience working with students and families from under-served populations a plus.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity, commitment, respect, and positivity, as all MHS staff are considered role models for students.
- Candidates should be willing to actively engage with MHS students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
