What you will do
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to assist with general accounting operations by controlling and verifying our financial transactions. Senior Accountant responsibilities include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. A successful senior accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts. Senior Accountant duties also include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in all of our accounting tasks.
- Core Responsibilities:
- Develop and enter journal entries into general ledger in a timely, accurate manner
- Develop account reconciliations with assurance of accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items
- Responsible for month end close activities, including company uploads and reporting
- Maintain sound internal controls and implement new controls, as needed, to comply with company policies and procedures
- Independently serve as Accounting lead in projects including but not limited to system upgrades and implementations, new finance products, transaction process changes, etc.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests to meet their needs and resolve any issues in a timely manner
- Actively participate in internal and external audits by providing timely and accurate data to auditors
- Train and/or mentor junior accountants
- Prepare, analyze and/or present financial and non-financial reports
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive change
Who are you?

- Education and Experience:
- BA/BS in Accounting required
- CPA, MBA and/or Master in Accounting is strongly preferred
- Alteryx, Power BI experience preferred
- 10+ years progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the financial services industry
- Multi-national corporate work experience preferred
- Required Competencies and Skills:
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work effectively on multiple tasks in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Demonstrated professionalism, including verbal and non-verbal communications, as well as emotional intelligence
- Solid working knowledge of IFRS accounting principles and financial information systems
- Sound business judgment and decision making abilities
- Expert in MS Office, with advanced skills in Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Experience with reporting software packages is beneficial
- Innovative problem solving, research and analytical skills
- Strong evidence of personal initiative, willingness to learn systems and independently work with other departments to resolve issues
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to present to all levels of management
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and focus on quality
- Ability and desire to work within and in support of a team environment, including expert relationship development skills
- Ability to independently recognize and resolve issues that require complex analysis
- The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the financial services industry within a large multi-national corporation
