Purpose and role of job:
Oversees Supply Planning processes to develop production schedules for the manufacture of commercial products with the primary goal to optimize and continuously improve Customer Service targets and production line changeover strategies while maintaining appropriate inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods.
Principal Accountabilities/ Responsibilities:
- Manages the following processes directly and through subordinates.
- Works closely with Customer Account Solutions and Production, develops optimal Production Schedule by balancing the following factors:
- Scheduling: Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders.
- Capacity: Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
- Run strategy: Plans and schedules workflow for production operations department according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.
- Executes the monthly S&OP Supply Review process and meetings to align Business Unit leaders with the state of the 36 month capacity plan for finished goods, raw materials staffing, and equipment requirements for budgeting and business planning purposes.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts for the site Supply Planning team as well as and BU projects.
- Ensures ERP emulation accuracy, MDM and standardized work
- Communicates plans with all relevant departments in the form of monthly, weekly, and daily production schedules and reports.
- Tracks planning accuracy and adherence to production plans and adjusts as needed
- Determines, requisitions, and maintains the appropriate quantities considering costs, space requirements relevant timing of raw materials to procure to meet the above said production schedules.
- Coordinates with PLM, CAS, QA, R&D, Sales, Purchasing, Shipping, Production, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and ownership for product changes and new product introductions.
- Coordinates with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service to develop forecasts for planning purposes.
- Identifies obsolete raw materials and finished goods for review and disposition
- Complies with FDA documentation and control requirements including developing of SOP’s for the planning function.
- Observes all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.
- Follows necessary GMP, FDA, and ISO regulations.
Education and experience requirements:
- Advanced skills ls in Microsoft Excel, Office and ERP/Planning Systems
- Advanced oral and written communication skills.
- Analytical skills with solid business background and understanding.
- Ability to manage people.
- Has initiative is a risk taker, a team player, is flexible, and is a problem solver
