What you will do
The North American Headquarters for Volvo Financial Services is seeking a Remarketer is responsible for remarketing VFS repossessed inventory for the US truck/trailer, construction, and coach portfolios.
This position will be responsible for the management of operational duties and functions associated with asset disposal; inclusive of the development of wholesale and retail sales channels, timely and efficient liquidation and contribute to the planning and strategy to achieve departmental and company goals and objectives. The individual will also be responsible for the management of operational duties and functions associated with lease disposal; timely inspection, billing, notifications as required, customer and dealer interfacing and managing to the VFS lease contracts/remarketing agreements with OEM’s. Additional responsibilities are to develop and manage the end of term relationship as it relates to lease customers, including contract refinances and extensions and collection of applicable payments and fees.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning & strategy - provide input based on department performance, industry & market activity, and vendor performance to mitigate losses and influence asset values.
- Develop a network with retail customers, dealers, and auctions to effectively market and dispose of company owned assets/used inventory.
- Effectively market and arrange for the sale of company owned assets to dealers (domestic or export), auctions, and/or customers.
- Actively work to develop Remarketing processes to improve equipment product resale values, such as negotiating contracts with vendors to recondition equipment as well as increase the buyer base to influence a competitive bidding environment to enhance values.
- Manage the process to divest assets (pre & post sale phases)
- Vendor management – manage and oversee to ensure service levels met to effectively sell company assets and achieve company goals and objectives.
- Propose finance support programs & offers to influence sales activity and support values.
- Prepare reports to analyze data, results, and trends to evaluate effectiveness and make recommendations to management.
- Valuation of truck/trailer/construction equipment/bus and comment on the technical aspects of the job in terms of mechanical aptitude and the ability to convey and negotiate repair issues effectively to vendors, dealers, and customers.
- Practice portfolio management to lease assets, inclusive of pre and post lease maturity
- Process Improvement & Innovation – evaluate processes and results and provide input to management to continuously drive efficiency, productivity, and effectiveness of operations.
- Cross functional – professionally represent Remarketing collaborating with internal partners such as VFS Credit & Sales teams and Volvo/Mack/VCE to achieve company goals and objectives.
- Assist other departments and affiliates evaluating and validating used equipment inventory reporting, evaluate trades on new transactions at the request of VFS Sales, Credit, Legal, etc.
- Compliance & Risk Management practiced satisfying legal (state & federal) and VFS policy & procedures to protect the company.
- Practice professional customer contact (internal/external) to establish and maintain effective communication and business relationships to support recovery values and improve efficiencies.
- Make recommendations to policy and procedures.
- Prepare reports, templates, spreadsheets, presentations, and other material to communicate initiatives and Remarketing performance, inclusive of interim and month end reporting.
- Project Management – represent Remarketing as a leader or contributor of project management through various phases (development, scoping, documenting, implementation)

Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:
- BA/BS in Business/Finance or related field
- Desired - mechanical certification or equivalent work experience in the transportation & construction equipment service industry
- 3+ years’ experience in Remarketing of Trucks/Trailers, Heavy Equipment, Bus/Coach and managing end of lease assets.
- Desired – experience practicing credit underwriting and risk management
- Proficient in the following below
- PC Microsoft Office skills (excel, power point, word)
- Advanced knowledge of Access and data management
