The Clerical Assistant 2 will be tasked with managing the processing and distribution of all incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail, Interdepartmental mail, and interagency mail. They will prepare and handle all outgoing mail, including U.S. Mail, Overnight Mail, Certified Mail, and UPS parcels. This role also includes performing messenger duties and operating a forklift, provided proper certification is obtained. Additionally, you will monitor the mailroom resource mailbox for incoming emails.  The incumbent will need to have a valid license to operate a Commonwealth fleet vehicle, as part of the messenger duties, to pick up and deliver mail and packages in Harrisburg and surrounding locations.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with a 1-hour lunch.  
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • This particular position also requires possession of a Class C Driver's License.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
