Supervisor of Special Education- Evaluation Services
Working from one of our
Family Service Centers, located in Pennsylvania
, the Supervisor of Special Education-Evaluation Services serves as an educational leader and assists other school leadership in the planning, coordination, and directing of activities and programs related to the administration of one or more grade levels/schools. The Supervisor of Special Education-Evaluation Services works with school psychologists, teachers, administrators, parents/guardians and related service staff to ensure that learners are receiving appropriate evaluations to determine initial eligibility or continued eligibility for Special Education. The Supervisor of Special Education-Evaluation Services works as part of the general education and special education teams to assist in delivering the best educational program for learners.
This role will support the teaching staff in fostering evidence-based, inclusive instructional practices through the lens of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support and universal design for learning to meet the needs of all learners. The Supervisor of Special Education-Evaluation Services will lead school psychologists as they provide appropriate assessments and evaluations.
The Supervisor must be knowledgeable of effective assessment tools and practices in special education as well as special education laws and regulations. The Supervisor of Special Education-Evaluation Services will work with teachers and parents to provide recommendations for educational programming in the least restrictive environment. The Supervisor will work closely with families to reduce and resolve any conflict or disputes.
This individual will operate in compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations and school policies and guidelines and ensure that all staff working with learners are being held to that standard. This position reports to the Associate Vice Provost, Special Education Operations and Director of Learner Services.
Responsibilities:
Supervise, coordinate, manage, monitor, and facilitate the work responsibilities for departmental school psychologists.
Oversee and guide evaluation timelines and compliance of evaluation and reevaluation reports.
Provides in-service training and workshops for teachers and staff proper procedures for the identification and referral of students.
Communicate departmental processes and procedures to external school psychologists and contracted companies.
Conducts monthly analysis of referral loads for each school psychologist.
Supervise department coordinators and support staff to appropriately distribute work effectively.
Provides follow-up support and periodic re-evaluation services as necessary.
Compiles monthly reports and maintains accurate case records.
Maintains adequate and current testing materials required by school psychologists.
Build and promote positive culture and capacity amongst designated teams.
Lead professional learning initiatives for all staff relative to school goals and acts as a model/exemplar by engaging in own professional learning and growth.
Drive initiatives in line with school improvement objectives and in collaboration with the School Improvement Team.
Provide leadership to the professional staff in determining objectives and identifying school needs as the basis for developing long and short-range plans for the school.
Conduct high quality observations and evaluations pursuant to CCA and PDE-approved guidelines.
Proactively conduct regular learner outreach, including digital communication and home visits.
Participates in and attends meetings and hearings related to compulsory attendance, learner safety, and children and youth services requirements.
Support and participate in out-of-classroom learner experiences including field trips, clubs, school-sponsored activities and other opportunities.
Demonstrate a visible commitment to ongoing growth in self and others and participating in district and site professional growth programs.
Communicate with learners with mutual respect while implementing CCA’s positive and effective discipline policy.
Implement with fidelity all federal, state, and school legal requirements, policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those specific to special education earners, EL learners, and learners with disabilities

Engage in learner recruitment efforts including in-state trips, presentations, Q & A sessions, and the media.
Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new staff.
Implement all Board policies as directed by the President/CEO, Executive Vice Presidents, and/or other Senior Administrators.
Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
Master’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related area.
Educational Specialist II School Psychologist PK-12
Administrative Principal Certification or Supervisor of Special Education Certification
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a school psychologist, preferably in a public-school setting
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Customer focused approach
High degree of flexibility
Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
Team player and ability to lead a collaborative culture
Technologically proficient (especially with Microsoft Office products, learning management systems, learner information systems, web-conferencing tools, etc...)
Working from a CCA Family Service Center on a full-time and regular basis
Frequent travel
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This is not a work from home position. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend, or stand as necessary. Ability to travel to other sites/locations as needed.

Required Education and Experience
Educational Specialist II School Psychologist PK-12
Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, or related area.
Administrative Principal Certification or Supervisor of Special Education Certification
Minimum of 5 years of experience, preferably in a public-school setting
Preferred Education and Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a school administrator, preferably in a public-school setting
Minimum of 7 years' experience, preferably in a public-school setting
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Valid PA Driver’s License
Appropriate Automobile Insurance Coverage
