Beasley Media Group Philadelphia is looking for a Chief / Senior Broadcast Engineer! This individual will be responsible for maintaining studio facilities, transmitter and remote facilities. This work includes broadcast transmission equipment, automation systems, IP audio-based systems, remote broadcasts. This is an onsite role that requires the employee to work at our Philadelphia Broadcast Facility.
Job responsibilities will include:
- Knowledge and maintain of networked based systems, studio equipment, audio over IP systems, EAS, routing switchers, streaming appliances, remote broadcast equipment
- RF experience / knowledge
- Maintain and repair transmitting equipment (AM and FM both tube and solid-state transmitters including HD
- Ensure compliance with FCC Rules and regulations
- Provide technical support to operational users
- Consult and communicate with engineering management and other engineers on technical issues as required
Skills and Qualifications
- Broadcast experience, minimum 5 years, SBE certifications a plus
- Solid understanding of core hardware, computer systems, and electrical systems
- Experience working with transmitters, microwaves, IP audio transports
- Experience with Wide Orbit automation a plus
- Self-motivated and the ability to work efficiently without direct supervision
- Confidence in troubleshooting problems and effectively communicating solutions
- Ability to read and understand technical materials
- Strong wiring, design, and documentation skills preferred
- Ability to do component level repair preferred
- Hold a valid driver’s license
- 24/7 availability
- Ability to work on ladders, stand for long periods of time, and lift computers or equipment up to 50 lbs
- Candidate must be able to climb up to 3 flights of steps and use ladders properly
- Associate degree or higher in electronics or a related field is preferred
- Monitor the overall technical operation of the stations to ensure compliance with FCC Federal, EPA, OSHA, State and local regulations
- Strive to enhance the efficiency of the engineering and technical operation
