Description This position is part of the Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management - National Energy Technology Laboratory, Department of Energy. As a Management and Program Analyst, you will analyze and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency with which assigned DOE organizations and their components carry out their programs and functions.

As a Management and Program Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and manage a formal protocol program for high-level visits, events, and meetings.
  • Formulate operational and analytical techniques to accomplish project objectives.
  • Serve as an analyst to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of a substantive program.
  • Research/consolidate data, develop executive summary documents, and coordinate reviews in response to requests for information.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:

  • Applying protocol principles, methods, practices, and techniques to plan and carry out high-level visits, events, and meetings.
  • Managing projects, including schedules and deliverables.
  • Coordinating and consolidating information to develop executive summary documents.
.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS GS-13: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as meeting 2 of 3 of the following:
  • Developing and leading protocol using principles, methods, practices, and techniques to plan and carry out high-level visits, events, and meetings.
  • Leading and managing projects, including schedules and deliverables, that involve external stakeholders and promote cooperative working relations.
  • Coordinating, consolidating, and analyzing information to develop executive summary documents.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
