As a Clerk Typist 2, you will serve as the agency receptionist which involves greeting visitors, maintaining a clean and welcoming lobby area, screening and referring phone calls and messages to the proper individuals, and maintaining a daily visitor's log.  We are looking for someone who possesses excellent interpersonal skills and communicates in a professional and courteous manner.  This position conducts a wide-range of clerical tasks such as mailing a variety of correspondences, filing, and maintaining a detailed log for large print jobs to be forwarded to the fiscal department on a quarterly basis.  You will also be responsible for managing registration requests for BHDS meetings and conferences, in addition to tracking daily calls for delegates regarding 302s.  

 

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 1 day per week, upon successful completion of the 6 month probationary period and submission of the county telework application.  In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania.  If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Greeensburg.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 and educational development to the level of eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum which included at least one typing course; or
  • Any combination of equivalent experience and training. 

 

Other Requirements:

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County.  If no eligible candidates who live within Westmoreland County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

  • You must pass a background investigation.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
