The Department of Labor and Industry is currently searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 for their office in Scranton, PA. This position is primarily for receiving, creating, and entering information into the SMART system regarding new submissions/applications and disseminating same to the underwriters for processing.

The responsibilities of this position include entering new submissions into the SMART system and follow up with applicants when necessary for missing information. Reviews information on applications to verify information is correct such as completeness, properly named entities or individuals as relates to creating of legal entities, ownership, and signatures. Composes letters and/or emails to the applicants and Brokers of Record requesting additional information including, but not limited to proper down payments, balances due on previous policies, additional forms, description of operations, and missing information. Responds to telephone calls, emails, and faxes from applicants and Brokers of Record regarding general questions about applications, forms, and rates for specific class codes and minimum premiums, etc.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Scranton, PA.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $35,306 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administratio); or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements:- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
