We are seeking a natural leader, ideally with a military background, and a vision for community and economic development. To be successful in this role, you have a proven track record working with high-level officials to drive long-term economic development initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the Chief Operating Officer for the Military Community Protection Commission, where you will be responsible for shaping and guiding the strategic vision of the Commonwealth to support and sustain military installations and organizations throughout Pennsylvania. Your duties will include formulating and executing policies, programs, and strategies aimed at bolstering the presence and effectiveness of military entities within the state. You will also be tasked with proposing and implementing initiatives designed to attract Department of Defense and other federal missions to these military sites. Additionally, you will oversee the planning, organization, and management of the Commission's activities, ensuring alignment with community and economic development goals that focus on the retention and enhancement of military facilities and personnel. Your leadership will encompass the overall direction and administration of all related operations, including the development and enforcement of policies, procedures, and guidelines that govern interactions with the Department of Defense and its branches, as well as the review of proposed legislation for its potential effects on military resources in the state. Furthermore, you will engage with members of the Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation, the State Senate, and the House of Representatives, while also collaborating with research, manufacturing, and educational institutions to foster long-term improvements in military operations within Pennsylvania. Your role will involve advising and working closely with senior officials from various departments, state agencies, and business leaders to ensure the strategic objectives of the Commission are met effectively.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: 
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications (not required): 
  • Five years of Military experience
  • Five years of economic development experience
  • Two years of public speaking experience
  • Five years of strategic planning experience
