The AWS National Security Business Contracts team has an exciting new opening for a junior to mid level business contracts manager to join our team in order to provide cradle to grave contract management of Task Orders/Delivery orders under a large Federal IDIQ vehicle
This position may operate out of AWS offices in Annapolis Junction, MD, Arlington, VA, or Herndon, VA (selection based on candidate preference). Limited ad hoc local travel to customer sites is an expectation with client sites located mainly in Maryland.
Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Identifying, mitigating, and resolving contract risks/issues, assisting in the formulation of contract policies, procedures, methods, operating practices, and performance standards to ensure contract compliance.
- Overseeing and participating in the review of all contractual documents, coordination of legal reviews, and supporting proposal processes to include negotiations. Maintaining complete and comprehensive contract records, trackers, and reporting.
- Serving as the contracts point of contact for your assigned workloads as the AWS counterpart to the Government Contracting Officer and to cross functional stakeholders across AWS. Collaboration and relationship building are important in this position to ensure proper communication and engagement on contractual awards/issues/topics.
- Supporting the sales, capture, and proposal teams to advise and educate customers on cloud contracting models and best practices when approaching cloud computing. This also includes advisement with respect to commercial terms and conditions as well as acquisition policy and regulations.
- Exhibiting a strong desire and ability to develop and implement tools and automation in contracting operations in order to increase efficiency and sales productivity
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ years of business contracts experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of the US Federal Government Procurement laws, regulations and procedures in the U.S. including FAR, DFAR, all government contract types, commercial contracts, and cradle to grave contracting process
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal terms of a broad range of enterprise technology commercial contracts
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams at various levels
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, prioritize, and meet deadlines
- Experience in Sharepoint or contract management systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $135,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
