Wondery is seeking a Head of Business Strategy, Analytics & Operations (“Head of Business Strategy”) to support our growing business and be a right-hand to the CEO of Wondery. The candidate should be business-minded, experienced managing a P&L, a strong communicator, enthusiastic, organized, data-driven and detail-oriented.

This position will be a member of Wondery’s senior leadership team, reporting to our CEO. The role will be the primary business interface with the Wondery / Amazon finance team, partnering to oversee strategy development, financial planning, data & analytics and operations/execution for the entire lifecycle of new initiatives. This individual will have an active role in problem identification, detailed data analysis and development of strategy. The position will also be the steward of Wondery’s goal-setting and prioritization process, implementing mechanisms to deliver results for our business goals at scale.

The candidate must be an excellent leader with a strong financial background and will draw upon solid analytical, critical thinking, communication (written and verbal) and problem-solving skills to effectively drive business results and collaborate with cross-functional groups. The individual must have experience with financial modeling, leading a team, and driving execution of cross-functional projects. The ideal candidate will have previously held a similar senior leadership role at an entertainment company or digital media brand and have a passion for podcast content.


Key job responsibilities
- Be the right-hand to our CEO, and drive performance of our senior leadership team
- Partner with Finance to drive a deep understanding of Wondery’s business drivers
- Create mechanisms with Finance to ensure clear communication and accurate information (customer-facing and financial data) is flowing between Wondery and Finance
- Partner with business leaders to define and execute Wondery’s organization-wide goals and related KPIs
- Identify and prioritize new business opportunities through financial modeling business case development
- Develop, maintain, and execute a roadmap of operational improvement
- Ownership of key Wondery business review docs
- Work across Amazon to learn and share best practices
- Represent Wondery both internally and externally
- Creates an environment where all voices are heard.
- Excellent at balancing competing priorities and multiple work streams.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage heavy workload while providing visibility into your workflow

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ years of professional experience in business-focused roles within the digital media, or entertainment industry, including a solid understanding of content strategy best-practices
- Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams
- P&L knowledge and experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data, financial and business needs
- Expertise in using data-driven approaches, including Objective and Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Experience interpreting data and making business recommendations
- Experience managing a team, interacting with employees of all levels, and collaborating with a diverse set of business and creative stakeholders

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred
- Experience as an Operator owning a $100+ Million P&L with business model experience in advertising, subscription, and/or IP licensing
- Ability to represent the company internally and externally
- Proven ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with multiple and shifting priorities
- Experience working outside the US market
- Strong negotiation skills with various types of partners and stakeholders
- Passion for podcasts and the audio entertainment industry

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $278,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
