Description About the Position: Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or temporary reassignment NTE 4 years by a current permanent Army employee. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

To meet the basic eligibility, you must receive at least two points on the screen-out element indicated below and must have an average of two points on all the job elements listed below. Your application will be further evaluated to determine if you meet the best qualified cut-off for referral to the selecting official.

Screen-Out Element (Minimum Qualifications): Ability to do the work of an Electronics Mechanic without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common tasks such as testing, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and overhauling a variety of complex electronics components and complete operational systems. I can operate test equipment to locate faults and analyze repairs necessary to return malfunctioning equipment to optimal operation and provide technical guidance and assistance to lower-graded employees. I work under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews my work for completion. - Failure to demonstrate your ability to meet this Screen-Out Element in your resume will result in an ineligible rating.

PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work assignments require light to moderate physical effort. Frequently lifts, carries or handles items weighing 40 pounds. Assistance is available for heavier items. Works in a sitting position for extended periods. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping is required.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normally works in a well-lighted, heated and ventilated area. Works outside in good weather but may be required to work in adverse weather too. Subject to injuries such as electric shock, cuts and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical or RP energy and microwave radiation. Travels as required to perform assigned duties.
