Overview

Seeking a Product Development Engineer for an exciting opportunity with the MMIC Design Center organization under CAES Defense Systems, located in either our Richardson, TX or Forsyth, MO locations! The MMIC Design Center is comprised of a team of 20+ MMIC and Packaging Designers creating advanced RF solutions for internal and external customers. The Center has PMO, test and test support engineering to convert designs into delivered products as well as systems expertise to support customer architectures and trade studies also enabling CAES capabilities at board and sub-array levels. Product development & support Engineer responsible for monitoring Test yields and Product performance for MMIC products, performs statistical analysis and reports for production team. During product development phase, perform test fixture design, generate test documentations, and technical documentation necessary to release product into production. Work in the lab environment to perform product test & characterization of MMICs, perform data analysis to determine product specifications, work closely with design engineers and technicians on improving device models to improve design model kits. Prepare technical reports and collaborate with Engineering design team. Perform Model validation tasks such as measuring circuits and back fitting to models; assist in the design and modeling of high-frequency package designs in addition to designing printed circuit board designs required for testing. Support development programs in building prototype assemblies, perform s-parameter testing, visual inspection of MMICs, and supporting product delivery.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and DUTIES:

  • Responsible Engineering authority for product lifecycle
  • Product application and customer support role
  • Perform RF/microwave measurements in lab; product characterization, acceptance testing (ATP) test and product monitoring
  • Assist in the design of IC packages, test fixtures, and evaluation printed circuit boards (PCB).
  • Support Engineering team in troubleshooting and preparation of technical reports
  • Support production assembly, test, and delivery activities; includes low-volume MMIC assembly builds, visual inspection of die under a microscope, and delivery of product.
  • Assist design team in modeling, simulation, and design tasks
  • Customer support of MMIC products including application engineering support, generation of datasheets and application notes.
  • Collaborate in team meetings and activities.

Qualifications

MINIMUM:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related Engineering curriculum.
  • Coursework relating to RF design or Electromagnetics (RF theory)
  • Knowledge in active device theory fundamentals (FETs and diodes)
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export law. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

PREFERRED:

  • RF design, simulation or modeling experience using AWR or ADS simulation software.
  • RF measurement experience such as small-signal s-parameters
  • Knowledge of RF/Analog circuits, FET transistor theory, and microwave fundamentals.
  • Experience user of AutoCAD or Ansys Solidworks.
  • Understanding of RF measurements using a vector network analyzer
  • DOD work experience.

Salary Range: $65,000 - $104,000 annually (Forsyth, MO.)

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base bay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
