School Psychologist (Grades K -12)
Position Description
Position Purpose
Working from one of our Family Service Centers, located in Pennsylvania
, the School Psychologist will oversee a full range of school psychological services to children ages 5-21, including screening and assessment, consultation with teachers and administration, actively participating in IEP meetings, and providing trainings to school staff and families. The School Psychologist functions as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure that students have the opportunity to succeed academically, socially, emotionally and behaviorally.
Implement all procedures to meet compliance standards as outlined by the PA Department of Education. Collaborate with independent contractors of educational services and review written material as is necessary.

Essential Performance Responsibilities
Reviews evaluation and reevaluation reports completed by contracted psychologists; present results to the family at IEP meetings; address any questions regarding interventions and eligibility.
Discusses findings from psychoeducational evaluations with contracted school psychologists.
Assists with the identification and placement of all types of exceptional learners.
Consults with administrators and other teaching staff members to ascertain individual student's abilities and needs, including students with special needs, and to familiarize stakeholders with psychological services.
Provides direction in assessment batteries for both initial evaluation and/or reevaluation for learners.
Participates in Evaluation Services Team meetings.
Serves as a resource and consultant on mental health and child psychology, conducts trainings for families and school staff.
Conducts psychoeducational assessments as needed for learners.
Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.
Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
Selects and requisitions appropriate assessment tools, books, aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records.
Requirements
:
School Psychology certificate issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
Master’s Degree in School Psychology
Ability to analyze and present results from psychoeducational evaluations
Consultation and collaboration skills
Knowledge and mastery of various of modalities of psychoeducational assessment
Learner and family focused approach
Experience in public school setting preferred
Strong technology skills (especially with Microsoft Office products)
Strong organizational skills
High degree of flexibility
Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is largely a sedentary role. Requires the ability to lift, squat, sit, bend or stand as necessary. Ability to travel to other sites/locations as needed.

2 years of relevant work experience
