We are seeking a Benefits Specialist for our First Quality Enterprises located in Great, Neck, NY. This position reports to the Benefits Manager and will be responsible for critical administrative and operational tasks to ensure that all benefit programs are running smoothly and in a compliant manner. This role will also partner closely with HR at various sites to administer benefit programs, respond to benefits related inquiries, manage escalated employee concerns while maintaining and building internal controls. Additionally, this role will work collaboratively with colleagues in Payroll and the HR Technology team to ensure all business processes are aligned.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide support to HR and payroll with respect to benefit processing, benefit payroll deductions and general support
- Assist with responding to health and welfare questions and inquiries
- Prepare materials (communication, HR process tools) that can be used at all First Quality locations and demonstrate our employee centric culture
- Develop self-service tools, communications, streamline, and document procedures for ongoing administrative tasks
- Review weekly vendor error reports and provide corrections
- Manage new hire enrollment in Wellness Program
- Prepare and track various weekly and monthly reports (i.e., disability, vendor error reports, outstanding new hire/status change enrollment, life insurance enrollment pending evidence of insurability)
- Assist in maintenance of benefit and leave requests in HRIS system (Workday)
- Complete Medicare forms for active employees who become Medicare eligible
- Process HIPP and Child Support Orders and enroll employee & dependents in coverage
The ideal candidate should possess the following:
- Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in benefits/benefits administration
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Basic understanding of health and welfare plans
- Attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Reliable with adherence to strict confidentiality standards
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and an HRMS system; Workday experience preferred
The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $80,000 - $85,000.
Base pay is only part of our total compensation package, which also includes an attractive annual discretionary bonus and robust suite of employee benefits for which you are eligible to participate in starting on your first day of employment.
Base pay offered will be determined on an individualized basis and we will consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
