Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

The Park Services Utility Department is responsible for providing our guests with exceptional customer service while ensuring that our venues are clean and presentable for our guests and employees. The Morning Clean-Up Crew ensures that our venues are clean and ready prior to guests' arrival for the day. Typical start times for this position are 5 am or 6 am.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Empty trash cans and clear midways of trash and debris throughout Hersheypark and our parking lots.*

  • Hose down midways and patios before park operations begin.*

  • Pick up small trash and debris in queue lines and midways, using a broom and dustpan or a picker.*

  • Wipe down countertops, clean windows and freshen up trash cans.*

  • Assist in supporting Garbage Truck operations when needed.

  • Assist with recycling by emptying recycling trucks into the cardboard baler.

  • Operate small power equipment (leaf blowers, power washers) as needed.*

  • Oversee assigned areas and coordinate team member duties while maintaining compliance with Child Labor Laws.*

  • Oversee training of new Morning Clean-Up Crew team members.

  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to ensure team members are aware of daily duties and assignments.

  • Perform daily inspections to ensure that cleanliness and appearance standards are met and/or exceeded.*

  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure proper cleanliness and appearance

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying

  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be friendly, upbeat, work well with other employees, and be able to interact with our guests

  • Knowledge of child labor laws and the importance of proper break times for minors

  • Must be able to work in large crowds

  • Must be capable of working in a team setting and independently

  • Knowledgeable of all Morning Clean-Up Crew areas of operations

  • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and professional image in compliance with the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

  • Must be able to start as early as 4:30 AM and be able to work flexible hours including days, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with Child Labor Laws

  • Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to: extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.

  • Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals and potential exposure to bodily fluids and other spills

  • Must be capable of shoveling and carrying a pan and broom

  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, reach above shoulder level, and the ability to push, pull, and lift up to forty-five (45) pounds without assistance
