The Department of Human Services is seeking a dynamic Clinical Dietitian to join our dedicated dietary services team. In this vital role, you will oversee the planning and organizing of the nutritional care of residents at Warren State Hospital. In this position, you will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive patient nutrition care program. Your responsibilities will include conducting nutritional assessments, providing diet counseling, documenting patient charts, participating in treatment teams, offering discharge counseling, and leading nutritional education initiatives. You will also be responsible for creating modified diets, adjusting recipes, and educating individuals and families on key nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, preparation, and storage. Additionally, you will monitor and evaluate food service quality assurance, quality control, and improvement efforts across all areas. Ensuring compliance with food service safety and sanitation standards will be essential. You will also utilize food service software to ensure the accuracy of diets as prescribed by physicians.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
    • May change based on operational needs
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position. 
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirement:

  • This position requires certification as a Registered Dietitian as defined by the Commission on Registration of the American Dietetic Association; or proof of eligibility for such certification.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
