This position is responsible for managing the development and implementation of training programs and resources at The Hershey Lodge and Convention Center.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Create and implement training material involved in the development and execution of the Hershey Lodge Property Orientation and Hospitality Training to meet operational needs.*
  • Facilitate HE&R New Employee Orientation and provide property tours to new employees.*
  • Monitor and review mandatory training completion progress and facilitate training in a group setting, as needed, to assist operations with completion.*
  • Establish credibility throughout the Hershey Lodge as an HR/Training subject matter expert, providing Training/HR guidance recommendations and acting as a liaison between other functional areas of HR and operations.*
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of operation and service standards for departments of the Hershey Lodge.*
  • Assist with the development and administration of department onboarding and on-the-job training programs, procedures, and materials to help align the workforce with the Service Promise, Human Service Behaviors, and Core Values.*
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through survey feedback, provide recommendations, and implement improvements.*
    Assist in the planning and execution of employee retention and engagement initiatives.*
  • Provide support for J-1 Summer Work & Travel participants and Hospitality Interns, as well as assist with the professional development series for special staffing programs.*
  • Assist the property HR Manager/Business Partner with responding to employee questions or concerns.*
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration, Communications, Hospitality Management, Hotel Restaurant Management, Human Resources
  • Relevant work experience can be substituted for education - 4 years

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Skilled in the use of Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
  • Must have an understanding of hotel and restaurant business operations.
