Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Finance Manager to be a key member of the AWS Database services team. This position is responsible drive thoughtful planning, pricing analysis, decision support, budgetting process and controllership for future investment. The individual will work closely with the executive team, product management and engineering to drive thoughtful analysis and controllership in the Database businesses.
The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, manage multiple and time sensitive deliverables across organization, along with managing risks and opportunities. The individual will also possess strong business partnership skills and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
- Build out and enhance P&L models for new and existing services, develop business insights and key metric dashboards, and lead ad hoc analyses.
- Create, maintain and improve profitability and management reporting.
- Drive the financial planning / budgeting process.
- Analyze new business ideas, make analytical judgments, and provide data intensive analyses to drive meaningful change.
- Identify and influence cost saving opportunities and drive execution with the business team.
- Compile and review financial results and operational plans and communicate results to company leaders.
- Lead key analytical projects that assist and influence the business.
- Lead the budgeting/planning process for overall DBS
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 5+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- MBA, or CPA
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
