Gulisek Construction is seeking a Shop Mechanic to join our growing team of construction professionals.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Diagnose and repair gas and diesel engines.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Maintain, diagnose, and repair gas and diesel engines, medium truck fleet and heavy equipment.
  2. Complete required preventive maintenance tasks per manufacture specifications
  3. Prepare and complete service documentation.
  4. Perform welding as needed
  5. Work in a safe manner and maintain a clean, safe work environment.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED;
  • At least 3 years experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy construction equipment mechanic (or a diploma from a trade school as a diesel mechanic);
  • Light duty truck mechanic experience required;
  • The ability to obtain a DOT medical card;
  • Ability to be a self-starter and work independently on a regular basis;
  • Be willing to work overtime and varying shifts;
  • Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work in any kind of active construction zone.
  • All candidates must have their own tools. Non-exempt under FSLA.
