To qualify for a Lead IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/INFOSEC), your qualifications must include:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Experience working within a large-enterprise IT tier 2 or 3 support team providing enterprise computing capabilities for Windows or Non-Windows mobile-endpoint devices (e.g. iPhones, Zebra, Motorola, Samsung, etc...) and collaborative communication solutions (e.g. Skype, TEAMS, MatterMost, etc...) for either common or mission IT functions.
Experience working through the systems development process by interpreting, planning, testing, evaluating, implementing, and integrating customer requirements regarding information systems such as of mobile-devices or mobile-applications in addition to working with commercial vendors or other government agencies.
Experience employing project management activities for information systems integrating emerging technologies across diverse project teams (e.g. internal or external organization) and managing project milestones, budget requirements, and cross-team dependency actions.
Experience, testing and implementing security and functional operating system updates on mobile-devices to include managing enterprise change management activities (e.g. Enterprise 3 Change Requests, System Security Plans, etc?) for the implementation of required cybersecurity controls as required by DoD Policies or industry best practice (e.g. DISA STIG, USCYBERCOM IAVM, etc.).
Experience leading small teams (e.g. military, civilian or contractor) in the accomplishment of a unified mission or set of goals focusing on IT or Information Systems (IS) providing work prioritization, IS project management, short and long-range planning (including budget projections) as well as coaching to individual team members to develop task proficiency.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
