The CHS Curriculum & Instruction Coach is an individual passionate about education and is excited about furthering the social and emotional growth of children by creating programming that children love. The Curriculum & Instruction Coach is prestigious position responsible for providing leadership, coaching, and instructional support to enhance individual teacher development, as well as curriculum and assessment practices. This individual is responsible for directing and leading the direction and execution of the innovative daily education program for children. The Curriculum & Instruction Coach reports to the Assistant Director and gives them information should a risk or issue arise. The salary range for this position is $59,735 - $79,746, based on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the implementation and evaluation of an innovative program curriculum
  • Mentoring and coaching teachers in best teaching practices, and providing feedback for enhancement of teacher performance
  • Supporting conflict resolution in classroom settings
  • Meeting regularly and collaborating with other CHS Curriculum & Instruction Coaches within the center (3 total)
  • Aiding teaching teams in implementing family engagement strategies as they relate to child outcomes and curriculum development
  • Developing and managing a system of assessing and reporting teacher progress, and tracking classroom and student growth and development, and material organization
  • Leveraging insights and closely collaborating with CHS Central Office Curriculum team to support achievement of educational outcomes
  • Maintaining connections with the community to create programs that address child and family needs
  • Supporting the development of teaching plans that are linked to individual child outcomes and overall classroom quality
  • Remaining compliant with all state licensing requirements as they pertain to health, safety, and professional requirements
  • Attending ECE conferences to remain updated on ECE practices
  • Acting as a role model for child development

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education (Master's degree preferred)
  • Level C or D certification in the PA ECE Career Pathway (preferred)
  • 3 years of classroom experience and at last 2 years of leadership, coaching, or mentoring experience in education (ECE/ K-12) (preferred)
  • Experience and knowledge in Early Childhood Education program and teaching standards - NAEYC standards preferred
  • Responsible, enthusiastic, and cares about working in a mission-focused organization
  • Willingness to be held accountable and receive feedback
  • Comfortability with technology including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and/or willingness to learn
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to influence, lead, and educate teams
  • Commitment to the mission and values of CHS and MHS and demonstrated high degree of integrity as all MHS and CHS staff are considered to be role models for students
  • Ability to lead and organize teaching teams, facilitate meetings, and share child and adult outcomes in multiple ways
  • Use multiple coaching strategies to support the growth and development of individual teachers and classroom curriculum
  • Able to physically interact with children (e.g., talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, etc.) and lift and or move items of up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated understanding of and ability to effectively work with low-income families (preferred)
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and implement solutions
  • U.S. work authorization and successful completion of pre-employment background checks and clearances
