Description This position is located in the Office of the Commander.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience at the GS-7 Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Screening calls and visitors; 2) Maintaining calendars and suspenses, 3) Composing and reviewing outgoing correspondence AND 4) Advising subordinate clerical staff on administrative and office procedures This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6).
Specialized Experience at the GS-8 Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Screening calls and visitors, 2) Maintaining calendars and suspenses, 3) Coordinating actions between management and higher headquarters AND 4) Conducting research and compiling data for consideration and presentation by higher-level management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-7).

Specialized Experience at the GS-9 Level: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Screening calls and visitors, 2) Maintaining calendars and suspenses, 3) Overseeing and coordinating administrative policies and procedures for offices and organizations, 4) Mentoring and teaching subordinate administrative staff AND 5) Coordinating travel arrangements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8).

Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-7: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6).

Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-8: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-7).

Time in Grade Requirement for the GS-9: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-8).
