The Shift Coordinator is responsible for supporting restaurant management and coordinating shifts. Additionally, this position is responsible for directing and assisting the Front of House team, maintaining communication between the Front of House and Back of House, assisting with employee and guest issues, customer interactions, enforcing brand standards, and financial accountability.

Job Duties (Items marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this position):

  • Supervise, train, and motivate employees. Oversee and ensure proper cash handling, cleaning, sanitation, service, and food preparation. Delegate tasks to uphold guest service standards for an excellent customer experience.*

  • Coordinate employee shifts by managing employee breaks and shift changes. Draft and write weekly schedules based on direction from management, staffing needs, and employee availability.*

  • Perform all opening and/or closing duties, including walk-throughs, completing summary reports, assigning work, ensuring completion of all prep or closing work, and overseeing cash-out and other cash closing procedures.*

  • Maintain floor presence to ensure guest expectations are met while service and products are consistent with brand standards. Observe processes and make recommendations on process improvements to enhance efficiency, safety, productivity, and profitability.*

  • Maintain knowledge of restaurant offerings and promotions. Assist guests by answering questions and making recommendations.*

  • Address guest concerns and issues with both guests and employees. Communicate areas of opportunity to department manager for further action as required.*

  • Provide backup to manager and support other employees in completing tasks as needed.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 years of related experience.

  • Industry Experience - Food & Beverage, Retail, Hospitality/Tourism

  • Post-Employment - RAMP, ServSafe Manager

  • Completion of high school or GED

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work efficiently and effectively in high volume environments

  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word

  • Must be able to multitask, organize, and prioritize with efficiency

  • Adept at providing outstanding guest and employee experience
