In this position, you will be responsible for issuing clearance verifications for various checks, including Pennsylvania Child Abuse, Pennsylvania State Police criminal history, the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR), out-of-state clearances, and the Consolidated Eligibility Letter System (CELS). Your duties will involve entering data into electronic systems, reviewing applicants' criminal histories, and taking appropriate action on incomplete applications. By issuing clearances and verifications, you will help ensure that individuals meet the qualifications set forth under the Pennsylvania Child Protective Services Law (CPSL) and related child protective services regulations, determining their eligibility to work with children or be entrusted with a child's welfare.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and 8:30 PM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after completing a 12 week in-office training, followed by 1 week in-office every 4 to 5 weeks. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title); or
- One year of moderately complex clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Legal Requirement:
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
