We are currently seeking an experienced General Maintenance Mechanic who is technically minded, energetic, and knowledgeable of all general maintenance tasks. As a member of our Facilities Team, the General Maintenance Mechanic performs a wide variety of routine maintenance activities, essentially ensuring that the facility's infrastructure operates safely, properly and without any unplanned interruption(s). Your work means production can proceed unimpeded. Typical work is executed in office spaces, manufacturing cells, laboratories, warehouses, storage, common areas, on the grounds, etc.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a diverse team including engineers, technicians, Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) personnel, management, vendor partners and others to perform all assigned responsibilities safely, promptly, effectively and efficiently.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and evaluate, troubleshoot, and perform corrective maintenance, of facilities infrastructure systems and equipment.
- Perform a variety of general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, room set-ups, furniture assembly and moves, equipment moves and cleaning, carpentry, patching and painting, general building upkeep, tree trimming, weed removal, snow removal, etc.
- Coordinate with outside vendor partners, tradespeople, and contractors as necessary.
- Assist with the installation of new, and the modification of existing, building equipment and systems.
- Regularly perform rounds, and inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for unsafe conditions, properly functionality, etc.
- Respond immediately and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, laws, as well as CAES policy, procedures and practices, related to building operations and working safely.
QualificationsMinimum:
- HS Diploma or accredited GED
- 4 years of direct professional maintenance experience.
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, various types of ladders and lifts, etc.
- On-call 1 week in duration, several times per year
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, as well as indoor and outdoor work assignments.
- Experience with in-door building materials
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as vendor partners, at any given time
- Ability to work all required hours, as well as extended hours beyond traditional schedule as required, including, but not limited to evenings, weekends, extended shifts an/or extra shifts. Sometimes with little or no advanced notice
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license) with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred:
- 6 + years' direct professional maintenance experience.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate and collaborate with most levels of the organization.
- Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite and technology such as smart phones, tablets, web-based applications, building automation systems, etc.
- Fluency in reading and evaluating operating and maintenance instructions as well as construction drawings (e.g. architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, etc.) and specifications.
- Ability to learn and utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software (e.g. FM Works)
Salary Range: Sr. Mechanic: $29.45hr - $42.73hr; Principal Mechanic: $33.57hr -$48.71hr . Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
