The Picnic Coordinator position is responsible for coordinating the catering opening with the food and beverage staff, assisting the salesperson with client needs throughout the catering, greeting guests, and maintaining accurate ticket count for the catering. This position works in a team environment with other members, including catering staff and other hospitality coordinators. While these positions are primarily responsible for assisting Hersheypark catering areas, there may be opportunities to work in a similar role in other Hershey Entertainment Complex venues. The Entertainment Complex consists of Hersheypark, ZooAmerica, Hersheypark Stadium, Hersheypark Arena, GIANT Center, Hershey Gardens and Hershey Theatre.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Meet and greet sales clients and their guests during catering*

  • Apply knowledge of catering menus to ensure the accuracy of buffet setups*

  • Track and communicate updated guest counts to the Catering Supervisory staff*

  • Apply basic knowledge of Hersheypark in order to assist guests with directions and general park questions*

  • Maintain cleanliness of entrance areas into catering to include: sweeping, window washing, and sanitizing workspace*

  • Perform opening and closing procedures for the catering event including confirmation of final billing*

  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must take and pass RAMP certification in order to perform this position (training will be provided)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines

Job Demands:

  • Must be available to work a minimum of three (3) days and 24 hours per week: Available days and hours will be based on the Hersheypark operating schedule and will include at least (2) weekends (Saturday and Sunday) each month May–August.

  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts (morning, afternoon, and evening)

  • Physical requirements include standing (for periods up to 5 hours at a time), walking, bending, and lifting up to 20 pounds without assistance

  • Regular outside work in various weather conditions is required (including hot, cold, rain, snow, and other inclement weather)

  • Employee must provide proper footwear (white sneaker)
