JOB SUMMARY:
The High School Academy Advisor provides strategic academic advising and program coordination for dual and concurrent enrollment students. This role exercises independent judgment in evaluating student needs, developing academic pathways, and contributing to the success and retention of High School Academy students. The Advisor collaborates with university leadership, faculty, and partner schools to ensure alignment with institutional goals and academic standards.
The HSA Advisor role is a hybrid position with regularly scheduled days on the Main Campus and remote work flexibility with occasional evening or weekend hours required for events or student support.
When working remotely, candidates must plug their equipment into their home router (a 50-foot ethernet cable will be provided by Post). No wireless connections are supported. The home internet minimum requirements are a 25 Mb download speed and a 15 Mb upload speed. The upload speed is essential for a consistent audio connection for the phone system. Candidates whose home network speed does not meet the minimum requirements can independently contact their ISP to upgrade their service before their confirmed start date. Additionally, candidates must have a reliable Internet connection and a designated and private home office or alternative workspace free from noise or distractions.
Salary Range: $45,000.00 To $50,000.00 Annually
Essential Accountabilities:
- Serve as the primary academic advisor and strategic liaison for the High School Academy students and their partner schools.
- Develop individualized academic plans that align with students’ long-term educational and career goals.
- Evaluate student performance and implement intervention strategies to support academic success and retention.
- Exercise discretion in approving course selections and ensuring alignment with university degree pathways.
- Collaborate with the Director of High School Academy and other departments to enhance program effectiveness and student engagement.
- Lead student/parent advising sessions and provide expert guidance on academic planning, university resources, and transition to full-time enrollment.
- Contribute to the design and execution of outreach and engagement initiatives to support student matriculation to the university.
- Analyze student data and trends to inform advising strategies and program improvements.
- Representing the High School Academy at on-campus and virtual events, including admissions and orientation programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned that support the strategic goals of the department and university.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES

- Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree in education, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in academic advising, student success, or educational program coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and make decisions on complex student issues.
- Strong understanding of secondary and postsecondary education systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using student information systems, CRM platforms, and data analysis tools.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset committed to student success and institutional excellence.
