JOB SUMMARY:

The Malcolm Baldrige School of Business at Post University seeks an experienced DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) Curriculum Specialist to join our academic team for a three-day curriculum summit (12-2-4). In this role, you will design, develop, and continuously improve our DBA programs’ curriculum and academic content. You will work closely with faculty, instructional designers, and subject matter experts to ensure our DBA curriculum aligns with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and our institution’s academic goals. This role requires a deep understanding of business administration, curriculum development, and adult education best practices.

This position is a part-time, short-term remote opportunity.

$2500

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Ph.D. or DBA in Business Administration or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in an academic or industry setting related to business administration, with specific expertise in curriculum development for graduate or doctoral programs.
    • 10 years of work experience in at least one area/job classification related to the anticipated careers for students in the program
    • 5-10 years of teaching experience in program or programs related to the scope of curriculum and instruction anticipated for the program
  • Skills and Knowledge:
    • Extensive knowledge of business administration theories, methods, and current trends.
    • Proven experience in developing curriculum materials and assessments for higher education.
    • Familiarity with online learning platforms and instructional design principles.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of professional expectations in the field and requirements/expectations of related professional organizations and specialized accreditation bodies related to the profession
    • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals outside of the profession (i.e., administrative staff and curriculum and instruction experts)
    • Open to new ideas and new methods for designing curriculum and delivering instructional experiences
    • Ability to think abstractly and synthesize concepts
    • Availability to meet during office hours for three consecutive days virtually for a Curriculum Design Summit
    • Availability to meet virtually for weekly, two-hour work sessions to continue curriculum design work until it is completed (if needed).
  • Competencies:
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
    • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively.
    • Commitment to upholding high academic and professional standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with instructional designers in a collaborative, interdisciplinary academic environment.
  • Familiarity with accreditation requirements for business programs, especially ACBSP or IACBE.
  • Experience developing DBA courses or similar doctoral-level business administration programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend the virtual kickoff one week before the summit
  • Availability to meet during office hours, 9:00 – 5:00, and for 3 days virtually for a curriculum summit
  • Fully attend and participate in the three-day virtual summit to collaborate in creating the following: program vision, program alignment to external standards, alignment to Student Learning Outcomes and transferable skills, and course list with a draft of course competencies
  • Attend and participate in weekly, two-hour SME work sessions as needed
  • Outside curriculum work on individual courses, including course descriptions, course vision, course analysis, course competencies, course learning objectives, course assessment designs, alignment to external standards, and any other required course design details as needed
  • Provide feedback on curriculum-related questions throughout the program design process
