The Department of Corrections is seeking individuals whose primary purpose is to provide care, custody, control, monitoring, and supervision of the reentrant population housed at the York Community Corrections Center (CCC), and to assist other staff in facilitating and monitoring the changes necessary for the offender's successful completion of the program for reentry back into the community.
If you want to leave work each day knowing you are making a lasting, positive difference by helping our team assist reentrants with successful transition back into their families and the community, this is the position for you!
As a Monitor, your primary responsibility will be ensuring the safety and security of the CCC. This includes observing reentrant behavior one-on-one, in groups, and through our Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system. Work also involves conducting searches, maintaining inventories of important items, and maintaining the sign-in/out register for all reentrants and visitors. Other responsibilities include reviewing rules and responsibilities with reentrants, assigning rooms and housekeeping duties, providing information about public services, administering breathalyzer and urinalysis tests, and participating in disciplinary processes or legal proceedings as needed.
Our team will also rely on your level-headedness and professionalism to effectively communicate with visitors and law enforcement agencies in addition to demonstrating sensitivity to public and crime victim needs, concerns, and complaints, then taking appropriate action to respond. Apply today and help create supportive, accountable, and positive change through our facility for the benefit of our reentrants and all people in Pennsylvania!
