This position is located at Bureau of the Fiscal Service, Associate Commissioner, Business Operations. As a Supervisory Financial Programs Specialist, you will lead and supervise a team to manage all facets of the assigned program.

As a Supervisory Financial Programs Specialist, you will:
  • Work with Federal agency customers to establish and improve working relationships and provide guidance, resolve problems, and perform duties associated with a central service provider.
  • Develop, maintain and track program budgets.
  • Project the program's volume and expenses and perform variance and earned value analysis per required reporting timeframes.
  • Provide program leadership; establish goals, objectives and criteria for the specialty area; and advise higher-level management on the status of work and program accomplishments.
  • Perform the full range of supervisory responsibilities including plan and assign work, establish performance standards and conduct performance evaluation, and improve productivity of the work unit.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes experience applying a wide range of concepts, principles, and practices to lead, direct, or oversee revenue collections, remittance data, or related financial operations programs.

Examples of this experience could include:
  • Providing direction, advice, and guidance to build, maintain, enhance, and operate revenue collection programs, channels, or related financial operations; OR
  • Advising agency customers or other stakeholders on issues involving revenue collections, remittance data, deposit reporting, or related financial operations; OR
  • Leading or conducting analyses of program operations, systems, or financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, and recommending corrective actions or enhancements.

In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable: For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13 level for 52 weeks.
