Under the Assistant General Manager’s supervision, The Director of IT is responsible for providing technology leadership and management of technology systems and services to include technology solutions provided to Pennsylvania Convention Center users, staff offices infrastructure as well as customers of the Pennsylvania Convention Center. This includes management of strategic and tactical activities to ensure satisfaction, technical delivery, contract compliance, and resource management.


  • Supervise Information Technology Services staff
  • Manage Capital Budget requirements
  • Prepare and implement the PCC computer-training program
  • Approve recommended PCC computer systems design, purchase, operation, modification and correction
  • Provide Information Technology support in an event-focused manner, by effectively managing the delivery, accounting and development of technology-related show services (e.g., AV, telecom, and show networks)
  • Manage Systems staff activities by establishing objectives, developing plans, setting project priorities and schedules, providing technical direction, managing project activities, and recommending activities and training for staff development
  • Periodically update users on new procedures, programs, methods and additional capabilities
  • Prepare and analyze specifications for proposed or revised systems
  • Coordinate and manage all aspects of in-house and consultant computer services
  • Maintain integrity of automated system and security of information
  • Periodically update users on new procedures, programs, methods and additional capabilities
  • Manages a majority of projects regarding software applications and rollouts, hardware and building infrastructure as it relates to technology and building expansion  
  • Interact, confer, and maintain working relationships with department heads to gain an understanding of their information technology needs and objectives. Determine current and projected PCC needs for information hardware and software.
  • Other duties as assigned Directly supervises employees in the IT department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with ASM's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems. To perform this job successfully, one must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelors’ degree. Advanced degree (MBA) strongly preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience in the Information Technology field; or equivalent combination of education and experience leading IT strategic initiatives in a related industry preferred.
  • Prior Management experience (3 to 5 years)

  • Strong understanding of ERP solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Network/Telecom, Web and User Support Services.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco, Microsoft BackOffice Suite, and Citrix Xen Suites preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of event booking and scheduling software, spreadsheet software and word processing software and be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
