The Westmoreland County Department of Human Services has an exciting opportunity for a Clerk 2 in our newly consolidated fiscal department. This position gives you the opportunity to collaborate the departments of Aging, Children's Bureau, Behavioral Health, Veteran's Affairs, as well as Community Relations and Prevention!


As a Clerk 2, you will be responsible for a variety of clerical and fiscal duties involving financial record keeping and/or transactions relating to departmental functions. This includes processing accounts receivables, data entry of services rendered, and supporting general fiscal operations. You will have the opportunity to interact with the Treasurer's Office regarding checks received as well as communicate with senior centers regarding project income discrepancies. Work includes recording data, distributing mail, preparing travel vouchers, and additional duties as needed to maintain efficient operations throughout the office.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Eligibility will be determined upon successfully completing 3 months of continuous, regular employment. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Youngwood.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerk 1 and educational development to the level of the eighth grade; or
  • Completion of a high school business curriculum; or
  • Any equivalent experience and/or training which provided the required knowledges and abilities.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Allegheny, Armstrong, Cambria, Fayette, Indiana, Somerset, Washington, or Westmoreland counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
