What you will do

As the Manager Business Control, you will lead a high-performance team based in Greensboro, NC and Hagerstown, MD. The Controlling & Product Finance organization is focused on securing long-term profitability within Volvo Group Trucks division. The finance teams’ scope includes business controlling, project controlling and finance project management. You will be doing this in cooperation with global business functions and ensure both local and global deliveries.

Key activities and responsibilities in this position:

  • Quality ensure a timely monthly closing (including journal entries, sundry invoicing and accruals).
  • Work proactively with forecast / budgeting in support of direction setting and needed actions to reach set targets.
  • Secure the Investments process for CAPEX, planning, approval, follow up and quality assure business decision material.
  • Payment plan & Project/Stream Cost analysis. Analysis to be assessed and updated in support of the business decisions in committees and councils.
  • Ensure financial processes & procedures are being adhered to in terms of proactive assessment, evaluation of key controls and audit support, including issue resolution.
  • Active management team participation, drive team understanding of financial impact from decisions and direction taken.
  • Project Portfolio financial management.
  • Active resource balancing analysis with local and global resources.
  • Development of key reports using various tools including power bi.
  • Ensure accountability cross the organization on reporting hours and chargeability.
  • Lead Tax Credit process within GTT.
  • Assurance alignment on Portfolio Management with Range Controller.
  • Ad hoc analysis

As local Business Controller Manager you will be reporting to the Director – Site US Controlling & Product Finance and will be responsible of leading the local team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Accounting.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in business or finance controlling.
  • IT proficient: good knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP R/3.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance or similar field of study.
  • Experience as a people leader and/or leading large financial projects.
  • Trucking/transportation industry experience.
  • Understanding of AB Volvo financial reporting processes and systems.
