SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Responsible for developing and implementing diversity, equity and inclusion strategies to advance Penn State Health’s mission, RITE (respect, integrity, teamwork and excellence) values and organizational goals with a focus on developing and implementing high quality, research-based educational programs to advance Penn State Health’s DEI strategic goals to provide culturally responsive care for our increasingly diverse patient population. Advances a “best practice” inclusive work environment and quality patient care experience by developing and implementing impactful educational strategies that improves the employment experience through a focus on unconscious bias and other issues that impact a respectful workplace and a quality health care environment. Implements educational programs, requested by departments/locations, that advance the organization’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. Increases quality and safe patient care by providing language educational programs for employees in patient care environments to increase their ability to communicate effectively with patients who speak languages other than English and to develop them for roles as qualified medical interpreters. Implement programs to support employees originally from countries other than the United States advance skills to be successful in the workplace, including linguist support and cultural acclimation.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or educational administration with a minimum of two (2) years successful teaching experience.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience related to educational program development and implementation, supporting recruitment engagement of diverse populations, managing complex and multiple budgets and advancing strategic initiatives.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
- Master's degree or higher preferred.
- Bilingual with preference for Spanish is preferred.
