The Environmental Group Manager is a vital supervisory position in the California District Mining Office. You will supervise the actives of the national pollutant discharge elimination system (NPDES) unit. You will ensure efficient regulatory reviews of mining-related NPDES permit applications and coordinate with the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other permitting units. This role requires strong technical expertise to address complex issues, including the impacts of discharges on streams, the hydrologic effects of underground mining on water resources, the assessment of mine pools, the evaluation of hydraulic mine barriers, and the design review of mine water treatment facilities. Your leadership will uphold high standards of environmental protection and compliance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Coal Center.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in the biological, physical, or environmental sciences, engineering, or in a field closely related to environmental protection or regulation; and five years of professional environmental protection experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Conditions of Employment:
- You must have possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- You must have possession of a valid Professional Engineer license or a valid Professional Geologist license issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists.
