ROLE OVERVIEW:

The Post University Director of Title IX and Disability Services will oversee and direct the University’s Title IX and Disability Services programs for students. The Director of Title IX and Disability Services will provide leadership, coordination and oversight of the University’s comprehensive programs and activities that ensure compliance with University policies and state and federal laws related to gender-based sexual misconduct. Will also be responsible for leading the University’s efforts and collaborating with departments across the University to provide main campus and online students seeking disabilities accommodations with the resources they need to achieve their academic goals. This a hands-on position, based in Waterbury, CT.

CORE ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead all University Title IX matters, including investigations, case management, training, and compliance programs
  • Manage and update the University’s Gender-Based Misconduct policy
  • Direct disability accommodations programs, ensuring ADA compliance
  • Oversee and participate in educational events related to Title IX and disabilities – on campus and virtual
  • Process and review student accommodation requests, ensuring compliance with Section 504 and ADA
  • Collaborate with campus partners to maintain an inclusive and safe environment
  • Identify and integrate best practices in Title IX investigations
  • Provide on-call Title IX response when needed
  • Work with Instructional Design to develop resources for faculty and students regarding disability support
  • Ensure ADA compliance of university facilities
  • Maintain expertise in relevant regulations and statutes
  • Conduct research, develop resource materials, and perform educational outreach on legal and regulatory issues
  • Collaborate with associates across the University
  • Maintain accurate documentation and make recommendations
  • Establish and analyze related metrics
  • Complete reports and presentations as required
  • Demonstrates Post’s core values and non-negotiable behaviors and models these distinctive standards in all interactions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree or J.D. from an accredited institution
  • Substantial knowledge of Title IX, ADA/Section 504, and other relevant higher education laws
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Title IX and/or disability accommodations case management
  • Proficiency in laws, regulations, and best practices related to discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, and disability
  • Familiarity with FERPA and other higher education legal areas
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Demonstrated experience in presentations and facilitating discussions
  • Ability to manage complex caseloads while meeting deadlines
  • Adaptability to changing rules and regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet applications, and database software
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a consultative environment
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and high ethical standards
