The purpose of this job is to coordinate the daily warehousing and shipping activities, distributing the workload in an effective and efficient manner to the warehouse team members. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Communicates the work with Purchasing, Traffic, Vendor Scheduling, Manufacturing Inventory Control and Distribution on any area involving the operations.
  • Informs the Warehouse Supervisor of all warehouse floor activities on a daily basis.
  • Provides on-shift direction and leadership for associates in the department, including team meetings, team staffing, vacation coverage and team priority setting.
  • Acts as a single point of contact for his/her area.
  • Communicates with Manager and support staff all planned shipments, receipts, resolved shortages, substitutions, etc. Reviews daily to ensure all scheduled shipments have been accomplished.
  • Presents to our customers complete, accurate, and damage-free shipments and services.
  • Applies sound judgment, communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling, training, and corrective action. Provides input into performance evaluation system for recommending promotions, wage increases and termination. Practices fairness and consistency in dealing with team members under his/her direction.
  • Responsible for the same duties as other Warehouse associates, which include material receiving, stocking, data entry, shipping, order picking, finished goods take-away, etc.
  • Utilize and maintain warehousing systems to manage product rotation and inventory locations.
  • Assures integrity of the inventory and assists Inventory Control in conducting cycle counts, physical inventory and the like.
  • Reinforces with associates proper methods of operating and maintaining equipment and batteries.
  • Maintains facility in regards to housekeeping and safety programs in accordance with FDA, OSHA and GMP guidelines. Assists in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
  • Handles special projects as requested

Education and experience requirements include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Forklift experience, clamp experience a plus
  • Prior responsibility for the direction of people
  • One to two years of experience in all phases of warehousing
  • Normal mobility, manual dexterity, normal vision and auditory abilities required
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, climb, and crawl. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
