Hersheypark amusement park spans 121-acres, and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania, Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20+ kiddie rides, as well as a zoo, and an entire water park.

This position is responsible for leading and supervising staff and maintaining beverage operations at Hersheypark Food & Beverage Concession locations. The position will work directly with the full-time Concessions Managers to oversee the daily operations relating to employee staffing, revenue operations, and overall general concession location operations.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

  • Lead the team by assessing the needs of each location by moving staff and products around the venue when necessary to better suit the needs of each location, and working with the other areas and/or management when assistance is needed*

  • Oversee and train staff on proper register procedures and address issues with registers as they arise*

  • Handle both guest compliments and complaints, as well as answer guest questions or direct them to the appropriate source of information*

  • Make sure that all locations in the area of responsibility are open and then close at the proper times established by business needs along with guidance from the management team*

  • Monitor stand appearance and operations (inside and outside), including the condiment and seating areas to ensure cleanliness and organization*

  • Monitor inventory levels and portion controls, including safe food safety standards and ensuring quality products in line with federal, state, and company laws and policies*

  • Maintain appropriate inventory and staffing levels based on projected business and weather on a daily basis, and complete mandatory food safety, temperature control, and communication logs*

  • Maintain equipment properly and report problems with equipment to maintenance staff during operations so that problems are corrected

  • Ensure strict adherence to Child Labor Laws and report any potential violations to a full-time manager immediately

  • Monitor employee work and provide on-the-spot training and instruction to F&B team members.

  • Consistently model and demonstrate proper attitude and behavior to team members.

  • Assist managers with End of Period Accounting and Daily Inventory Audit procedures*

  • Assist in seasonal event set-ups and other themed projects as needed.*

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older on the date of applying

    • Must have at least two (2) years of Food & Beverage supervisory experience

    • Post Employment - Must be certified or be able to pass an alcohol service class (RAMP Training - will be provided) and Food Safety training (ServSafe Allergen and ServSafe Manager – will be provided)

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Must have a strong working knowledge of Windows-based computers (including general Office Suite and Google Workspace programs)
    • Must display a positive attitude, eagerness to learn, willingness to work well with others, and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts and Food & Beverage guidelines
    • Must be able to multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments
    • Proven guest relations, problem-solving, task management, communication, and organizational skills
    • Knowledge of Child Labor Law regulations
    • Must be able to work independently and be self-motivated to perform all aspects of the job at all times
    • Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information

    Job Demands:

    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including morning, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with shifts starting as early as 7:00 AM and ending as late as 1:00 AM
    • Must be able to work at least 35 hours a week, Memorial Day through Labor Day, and 15 hours a week in the off-season
    • Physical requirements include the ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time, walk, bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity, and the ability to push, pull, and reach above shoulder level, and lift up to twenty (20) pounds without assistance
    • Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions, including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, cold, and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.
    • Must be able to withstand the temperatures of a kitchen/food stand environment
    • Must be comfortable with exposure to cleaning chemicals
    • Employee must provide proper footwear (black non-skid/non-slip sneakers)
