In this position, primary responsibilities involve providing Tier 3 support services to departments including Human Services, Health, Drug and Alcohol Programs, Aging, and Military and Veterans Affairs. You will troubleshoot complex high-level technical issues, function as a lead worker independently and during team projects, maintain knowledge articles, work in an IT project coordinator role, and support the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) user community.

  

This is a highly visible position and is the first point of contact for end users. Effective communication and customer service skills along with successful resolution of problems and assignments are critical. Our team will rely on you excellent time management and organizational skills due to this position’s high degree of independence. Teamwork is also essential as you will provide team mentoring and coordination of efforts for work and processes as well as attend training courses and seminars to develop your own knowledge and technical skills. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You must come into the office ONE DAY A MONTH AT A MINIMUM. You will be expected to work from home (telework) for the reminder of your work schedule but this could change and you may be required to come into the office more frequently. The office is headquartered at 2525 North 7th Street, Harrisburg. You must have a securely configured high-speed Internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Parking is located at the building and is free.
  • Occasional travel within district operations is required. 
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary (before taxes) of $66,250.00.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1; or 
  • Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or 
  • Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or 
  • A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or 
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
