Description This position operates large, complex riding lawn mowers that have multiple or independently controlled cutting decks, and/or specially designed mowers that operate on slopes; lawn and garden tractors with various specialty attachments such as gardening attachments, trenchers, snow plowing or removal equipment, etc. The equipment operated characteristically includes single-function performance and components that are independently controlled through various hydraulic and/or mechanical devices.Performing a variety of grounds keeping duties.
Complete general maintenance (change spark plugs, add oil, sharpen blades).
Perform basic building wide cleaning/custodial operations.

SCREEN OUT: Ability to perform the most difficult and complex laboring duties including operating heavy power equipment, such as single-function power lawn mowers with one or more cutting decks and mechanical controls, hand power equipment, such as chain saws, jackhammers, and a variety of types of common hand tools and light power tools (such as, shovels, rakes, lawn edging equipment, circular saws, electric drills, etc.), to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, and trails. Responsible for operating light duty motor vehicles weighing up to 10,000 pounds (such as pick-up trucks, panel trucks, flatbed trucks, etc.) to safely transport personnel, materials, or equipment to work sites. Dig ditches and trenches with pick and shovel where soil is hard and compact; break up pavement or concrete; mix and pour concrete, asphalt, and hot / cold mix; fill and level holes in damaged roads. Load and unload supplies and materials from trucks, trailers, dollies, etc. Move furniture, paint picnic tables and signs, trim trees and shrubbery, picks up litter and clean fire pits. Perform basic equipment maintenance on mowers and other similar equipment including adjusting blades, cleaning, lubricating and oiling. Perform janitorial duties, such as cleaning sinks, toilets, sweeping and mopping floors. Lift and move objects weighing over 50 pounds, and in some cases, carrying 80 to 100 pounds (or more) with assistance. Be considered an expert and work with a degree of independence.
