The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) has an exciting opportunity for a professional Accountant 1 in the Bureau of Accounting and Purchasing, Cash Management & Sales Audit Division. The PLCB Cash Management team supports the processing of over $3.2 billion in gross sales and over 40 million transactions on an annual basis. Picture1.pngAs an Accountant 1, you will analyze transactional data, as well as apply accrual and cash accounting principles to identify and independently resolve issues. You will perform daily funding reconciliation duties, address failed payments, prepare sales audit adjustments, and other reporting duties. Our accounting team safeguards agency assets by reviewing incident tickets which are customer or licensee requests for credit/debit card adjustments relating to the purchase of product at our PLCB stores. This information is reviewed, processed, and returns are resolved.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 1 hour lunch.
  • Telework: You will have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to four days a week, with one day per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.   
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Five years of Bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
  • One year as a Financial Programs Trainee; or
  • Successful completion of the Commonwealth's Accounting Intern Program; or
  • One year as a Fiscal Technician, and fifteen college credits in accounting; or
  • A Bachelor's Degree including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting; or
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

  • You must pass a background investigation.  An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code. Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
